1) To begin the setup, open the Apple Menu in the upper left hand corner of your screen. Scroll down to Control Panels and then select Remote Access from the menu that pops out to the right.

2) Make sure the Registered User circle is filled in and enter your username and password in the appropriate blanks. Make sure they are both in lowercase with no spaces. Enter the phone number that is local to you in the Number blank. If you aren't sure which number is local to you, see our Local Access Number Page.

3) Now go up to the Remote Access menu and select TCP/IP. In the screen that pops up, select PPP from the Connect via menu. Below that select Using PPP Server from the Configure menu. In the blanks below, enter the following numbers into the Name Server Addr. box:
216.241.132.3
216.241.132.2
Then enter the following information into the Search Domains box:
kconline.com
hoosierlink.net
Then close the window and save your changes.

4) Now go back to the Apple Menu and select Internet from the Control Panels.
5) In the Internet Control Panel that opens up, make sure the Personal tab is selected. Enter your name how you would like it to appear on any e-mails or forms in the Name blank. Then enter your e-mail address in the blank below it. If you have any kind of business or organization, enter it in the Organization blank.

6) Now select the E-mail tab. Enter your username in all lowercase in the User Account ID blank. For the Incoming mail server, enter
mail.kconline.com
Then enter your password in all lowercase letters below that. For the Outgoing mail server, enter
smtp.kconline.com
The following options are things that you will have to select. The check boxes will make an alert when you recieve email, and the pull-down menu at the bottom chooses which program you will use to recieve your email.
7) Now click on the Web tab. Enter one of the following addresses for your Home Page, or choose your own.
http://www.kconline.com
http://www.hoosierlink.net
Then enter any search engine you want to use for your Search Page. If you don't know any search pages, you can use one of the following:
http://www.yahoo.com
http://www.google.com
Leave the rest of the options how they are, except for the Default Web Browser. In this menu you can choose the browser that you want to use to connect to the internet. Then press the Continue button to go on.

8) Now go back to the Remote Access page you were at earlier and press the Connect button to get online. Then open up Netscape or the web browser of your choice. You can also use the Browse the Internet icon on your desktop to get online and open your web browser.
