This quick tutorial will allow you to easily change and/or check your Dial Up Network(DUN) settings for the correct access number and/or server settings for your KCOnline online connection.
1) You first need to locate the icon on your desktop labeled 'My Computer'. Then open this up by double clicking on the icon.
2) In the next window you will see a folder icon labeled "Dial-Up Networking." (as shown in the picture to the right). Double click this icon to open it.
3) Now in the Dial-Up Networking window you will see your online connection icon. This icon should be labeled 'KCOnline' or someother label that you have set it as.
4) Next you will, with the Right mouse button, 'right click' on the icon as seen in the image to the right. Then go down and click on 'Properties'.
5) Once the Properties window is open you will need to enter the phone number that would be local to your area. You can get these numbers here (access numbers).
6) If it seems that it needs the Area Code for the access number then you can enter the correct area code for this call in the area selected for 'Area Code'.
7) Now click on the tab at the top that is labeled 'Server Types'. Here you will be able to change the server settings. If these settings are changed to anything other then the specified settings by KCOnline Tech Support you will recieve problems connecting.
8) In the Server Types settings window you will need to make sure that the 'Type of Dial-Up Server' starts with 'PPP:'
9) Then under "Advanced Options", 'Enable Software Compression' should be the only item that is checked.
10) Then under the Allowed network protocols 'TCP/IP' should be the only item checked. Then click on the button to the right that is labeled 'TCP/IP Settings'
11) In the TCP/IP Settings window the first option 'Server assigned IP address' should be selected. Then the fourth option 'Specify name server addresses' should be selected.
12) For the Primary and Secondary DNS you will need to enter the following numbers.
216.241.132.3
216.241.132.2
13) Now you can click on the 'Ok' buttons to save what you just edited. Then you will be set to get connected to KC Online.
